Who We Are
The Muslims of Edison Civic Alliance ("MECA," "we," "us") is a community organization serving the Muslim community of Edison, New Jersey. We can be reached at admin@edisonmuslims.org.
Information We Collect
We maintain a community directory containing information that community members have provided to us, including name, email address, phone number, and town of residence. This information comes to us directly from community members through membership sign-ups, community events, program registrations, and community communications.
How We Use Your Information
We use directory information to:
Communicate with community members about MECA activities, community matters, and civic engagement opportunities; verify and keep our community directory accurate and up to date; and understand and represent the needs of the Edison Muslim community.
Text Messaging (SMS)
If you have provided your phone number to MECA, we may send you text messages related to community matters, including directory verification requests. Message frequency is low (typically one to two messages per year). Message and data rates may apply. You can opt out of text messages at any time by replying STOP, or get assistance by replying HELP.
No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Information sharing to subcontractors in support services, such as customer service, is permitted. All other use case categories exclude text messaging originator opt-in data and consent; this information will not be shared with, or sold to, any third parties.
How We Share Information
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information. We do not share your information with third parties for their marketing purposes. We use trusted service providers (such as email and messaging platforms) solely to deliver our communications to you, and those providers are not permitted to use your information for any other purpose.
Your Choices
You may at any time: request to see the information we hold about you; ask us to correct or update your information; opt out of emails using the unsubscribe link in any email; opt out of text messages by replying STOP; or request complete removal from our directory by contacting admin@edisonmuslims.org or replying REMOVE to any of our messages.
Data Security
We take reasonable measures to protect directory information and limit access to volunteers who need it for community outreach purposes.

We may update this policy from time to time. The latest version will always be available on this page.
